Ideally, you should save around 25% of your gross income for retirement. However, many of our clients find success by saving close to 20% of their income.
The choice between Whole Life (WL) and Universal Life (UL) depends on your goals and risk appetite. Whole Life is a different asset class that doesn't participate in market volatility like UL. Some clients prefer WL for its smooth and gradual growth, while others with a higher risk appetite choose UL due to their tolerance for fluctuations in fund value.
We don't charge our clients any fees for our services. The product provider pays us a commission when you choose to do business with them. For instance, if you decide to work with RBC, they compensate us for bringing them a new client.
If your employer doesn't provide coverage for short-term disability (STD) or long-term disability (LTD), your first choice should be Disability Insurance (DI). DI pays you a monthly benefit when you're unable to work due to injury or illness. Critical Illness Insurance (CI) pays out a lump sum when you're diagnosed with one of the specified 25 illnesses. Many of our clients choose both DI for injury protection and CI for critical illness coverage.
While you can certainly do that, our investment approach differs significantly from banks. We actively adjust asset allocations to take advantage of market opportunities. Banks typically use static portfolios without adapting to market changes.
Additionally, we offer flexibility, including weekend and weeknight availability. We can meet you at your workplace, home, or a coffee shop for your convenience. Our clients have enjoyed personalized service for over 17 years, and even their descendants have become our clients. Unlike banks, we only require clients to show their ID once when opening an account, ensuring a personalized and dedicated service experience.
